I am trying to split my tv satellite signal for my granddaughter's room. Since she only visits 2x each month, it is not worth extra expense of adding another converter box. I just want the antennae hookup and I can control the channels from the other tv with the converter box attached. I used to split a cable signal, but I have been told that a satellite signal is quite different from a cable signal ...

I used to do it with cable signal and split it into three tv's from one cable box using a 3-way splitter. it's possible that i will be watching the same channel on both tv's and can only be operated by remote control from one tv source. That's ok. I just want to watch it sometime in the garage while working on some stuffs.

I have a few Directv receivers lying around, RCA and Hughes receivers to be exact, the receivers are at least 10 years old or older. Just wondering if they're still hackable. I also have a H card and a card programmer but I think that stuff is useless. Any info would be great, cant find much on Google.

Since I'm an incurable tweaker I thought I might look into finding ways to hack relatively new DirecTV R15 DVR recorder. It's so far listed as unhackable. Well I'm not ready to break out the soldering iron to change that just yet but I will write down a few discoveries.

Just bought the 505 receiver and have been hooking it up for three days on and off. Want to know if my connections are correct. to a Dennon receiver a HD t.v. a hp PC etc. a home theater unit.

It does not come with instructions. It is like the star choice receiver. I have the manual somewhere, but I remember some of it. I'm stuck on the analog settings.
