Directv model H24-100 problems with hookup

Postby maxim4409 » Sat Jul 10, 2010 4:29 am

I purchased the DIRECTV H24-100 receiver from the Sadoun store and it looks good, but soon found that it was not designed for the Analog TV's. I have a new Vizio flat panel TV which worked fine with the older receiver which died, but I am having problems connecting this one up. I have the HDMI connector, and the RCA Cables as well. I currently have the RCA cables connected to the television and it just don't work at all. I am not getting a signal to the TV that way or when I connect up the HDMI cable. The RCA cable set which consist of three plugs are connected to the colored plugs and I assume that is all I need.

Try selecting the source button on your tv remote and set it to which ever hdmi port you have it hooked to or set it to component on your tv.
My vizio remote have these buttons across the top. TV,AV,Component,HDMI.

I think that I found what the problem is. I purchased the receiver from a third party and when I received it as a replacement I found that the card for the old receiver did not work with the new one. I don't remember seeing a card in the package and now think that I burned the box it came in. This makes the receiver useless to me. DIRECTV sent me some new receivers when I called them to drop their service. So I am back in business and hope they hold up for another two or three years for me. I also found that some of the charges was reduced as well to keep me as a customer. Thanks so much for the help and now it's back to my FTA receivers and getting them going.
